Many people vacation in Cozumel because they love the warm sun. This is the time one would like to be outdoors either on the beach sun-tanning or at the beach playing a favorite game like volleyball, boating, or basking in a swimming pool or on the beach. VOne is obviously exposed to the sunlight and the intensity of the rays may affect your skin texture.Skin burn is a common problem when one is exposed to the harsh sun rays and one can also develop skin cancer.
UV radiation is higher during the summer. Since one spends most of the time lying down near a pool or on the beach trying to get a tan, the risks of damaging one’s skin is there.Whenever one moves out in the sun, one must make sure that he or she is not over exposed to the sunlight. What does one do to avoid such extreme exposure?How to avoid extreme sun exposure to prevent skin cancer?
Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes.
Stay in the shade as much as possible.

•Sunscreen lotions are available to protect the skin from harsh sun rays. One need to apply it any time one is outside.
•Stay in shaded areas to avoid the direct sunlight. UV rays are the strongest between 10 AM and 4PM which is the time one needs to stay in a cool place.
•Use a sun hat to protect the sun rays falling directly on the face. The facial skin is very delicate and wrinkles faster when exposed to harsh sun rays.
•Cover the exposed body with cloth either by wearing a long sleeve or long pants, which has a tight weave.
•The color and texture of your clothes should ward off the heat. Light cool cottons are ideal for the summer.
•While tanning be sure that you do not suffer from sun burn.
•Avoid sunlamps or tanning booths.
•Check the skin every month for any traces of skin cancer.
•Any unusual spot on the skin consult the doctor.
•Do skin self-examination to take early precautions in avoiding skin cancer.

How to protect children from over-exposure to the sun?
Children need not stay at the beach or pool or outdoors too long as they may unnecessarily get exposed to the sun.
Protect them with sun hats, and clothes that are comfortable in summer and apply sunscreen lotions.
Parents themselves need to avoid spending too much time in the sun and be a role model for their children.
Skin needs to be protected from over-exposure to sun in order to prevent skin cancer.

Staying in the sun far too long is not good. One can use a sunscreen lotion or wear clothes which protect the skin from being exposed to the sun.
Wear hats to shade your face, neck and shoulders.
Avoid laying out in the bright sunlight.
Whenever possible, stay in the shade at beach events.

Cozumel Dune Buggy Tours

If you are driving your own car, or a car rental from the mainland that allows you to cross it to Cozumel, then you will need to board in Puerto Morelos. You must wait in line for at least four hours before departure and then load your vehicle onto the ferry. The crossing is approximately three hours to Cozumel and about four hours going back.
